RAM stands for Random Access Memory, the memory type is volatile (can be added, modified and deleted). The opposite is the ROM (Read Only Memory) which is non-volatile or can not be added, changed or deleted. On a computer, RAM memory serves as a container for data (in the form of files) to be processed by the processor (CPU). So, basically the greater the capacity of RAM, the faster a process carried out because the processor can process more data if needed. So if the notebook or pc you want faster performance of the process, it must be to add memory.

RAM memory types also vary in terms of the workings and design (module). Usually the actual notebook use memory type DDR-SDRAM, DDR2 memory or DDR3 memory. Types of RAM this notebook using the module SODIMM (Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module). So, if want to buy a RAM memory for notebook, select the type of species SODIMM DDR-SDRAM, DDR2 memory or DDR3, which are used depending on your notebook, you can even choose the memory size to be added, ranging from the size of a chip 1GB to 2GB DDR2 memory, and it all depends on your needs.

RAM upgrade is usually done because of the need to increase the performance of notebooks and because of the requirements to install certain software. Indeed, the expected speed was not so significant. However, the software can run more smoothly and faster than ever before. Especially when I’m using heavy applications like video processing / audio / graphics. In addition, upgrading RAM is also required when installing a software require.
